We are proud to say that our efforts at educating motorcyclists and promoting awareness for motorcycles on the road has resulted in a slight decrease in motorcyclist fatalities for 2012. Other states were not so fortunate, and motorcycle fatalities nationwide are expected to be up by nearly 10 percent for 2012.

While we have seen an improvement in Georgia, we still have more work to do. More than 130 motorcyclists died in Georgia in 2012, and we still see too many fatal motorcycle crashes in urban areas and in the foothills and mountain towns that have always been such a draw for motorcycle enthusiasts.

As motorcycle season begins in earnest, we want to renew our commitment to making Georgia one of the safest states for motorcycle riders in the country. We hope you’ll join us in that commitment.
